Ingredients:

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cans (15 ounces each) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
  • 2 cans (14.5 ounces each) diced tomatoes, drained
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large pot, cook the lasagna noodles according to package directions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, Italian sausage, onion, and garlic until the meat is no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  4. Add the tomato sauce, tomato paste, diced tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper to the meat mixture. Allow to simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
